The K2 Sports Design Engineer's primary responsibility is Management and Engineering Development of the Binding Product Line. Working with the Category Manager, develop a product line that meets the quality needs, delivery goals, value objectives, cost targets, budget limits and innovation needs to be competitive in the market. 


  • Work with Category Manager to set the goals and objectives of the Binding Product Line.
  • Utilize available development resources (Factories, ID firms, Graphic Design, in-house resources, etc.) to engineer a product line that:
  • Meets the needs of the appropriate riders (Team, novice-advanced rider, rental shop) for fit, durability, performance, convenience, comfort, and any other objectives
  • Meets unit cost targets for each model
  • Doesn’t violate competitor patents. Create new patents for “K2 Sports” where possible.
  • Manage generation, approval, and filing of 3D solid model and 2D drawing files.
  • Develop and Execute product test plan to ensure that designs meet performance and durability targets. Utilize FEA, factory test labs, Vashon Test Lab, Team riders and on-snow test group.
  • Material selection that balances performance, durability and cost.
  • Plan and Manage tooling schedule and build to meet delivery targets and capital budgets.
  • Manage execution of graphic sampling and buy-off to meet the goals of the creative department and also meets unit cost targets.

The Team and Marketing Coordinator oversees all RIDE professional and amateur athletes for RIDE Snowboards. This position manages contract negotiations, project marketing, creative project development, appearance execution, PR and social media marketing relative to the athletes and marketing as a whole. In addition the marketing and team coordinator works as a team member within the divisional marketing departments on multiple general marketing projects and collateral materials, including but not limited to advertising, copy, merchandising, catalogs and websites.
