Essential Job Duties

  • Perform product testing for the K2 Research and Development Lab. 
  • Report test results and review with the Test Lab Manager/Engineer(s) to direct Product Development towards design objectives.
  • Design test fixtures and test equipment.  Coordinate the fabrication with the Machine Shop.
  • Instrument products for acquiring load data for laboratory and field testing.
  • Manage a large scale test load of varying products in order to maximize test throughput.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment including Universal Test Machines, Test Chambers, and K2-specific standalone machines to ensure they meet performance and durability requirements.


Customer Service K2 Sports Customer Service Representative IV, K2 Sports, Seattle WA

The K2 Sports Customer Service Rep provides excellent customer service, warranty and technical support to authorized dealers and consumers. Establishes and maintains great relationships with dealers, independent sales representatives and internal customers. Manages sales orders in assigned territories, ensuring accuracy of price and terms and on time delivery by requested ship date. Communicates status of orders to dealers, consumers, sales reps and sales and customer service managers.

Essential Job Duties

  • Achieves company financial objectives through proactive sales order entry and management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to authorized dealers and consumers through strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform outbound sales calls to existing customers to generate new business.

Internet Services Web Designer, Seattle, WA

Position Purpose:

The role of the Web Designer is to design front-end solutions that will be implemented in both new and existing websites. This position is skilled in visual and interactive design and information architecture, and has a solid understanding of web technologies. This role will collaborate with the web department, marketing, and in-house designers on a variety of assignments working in tandem with brand designers and our other interaction designer on some projects and operate as the sole designer on others. This position will also work with the email marketing department to design emails for the brands.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Conceptualizing and designing beautiful and effective design solutions that engage the consumer across various platform (mobile, desktop, email). 
  • Translating marketing and business needs into dynamic and innovative UX/UI applications that provide the best possible user experiences.
  • Prepping designs for handing over to developers.
  • Communicating ideas by means of pencil sketches, wireframes and mockups in photoshop or other wireframing tools
  • Helping manage our assets library using Adobe’s Scene7 dynamic imaging platform.
  • Collaborating with web team members under the direction of Internet Services Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of web/ UX/UI design experience. 
  • Strong portfolio or work samples showcasing web-based design. 
  • Ability to communicate user experience and interface design through sketches, user flows, and wireframes.
  • Experience designing for mobile. 
  • Must be organized, independent, and able to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment. 


K2 Skis Design Engineer , Seattle, WA

POSITION PURPOSE: The Design Engineer role will include design and development of new products for multiple categories.  The products should be high quality, good durability, marketable, capable of efficient production and cost effective.  The Design Engineer works closely with the Product Director, Product Line Manager and other colleagues to meet market and financial needs.  This position will be responsible for managing product briefs and new product planning, prototyping, creating product design and engineering documentation and working with vendors and suppliers for the commercialization of the products. 


  • Work with Product Director and Product Line Manager to develop technologies and products to meet market needs and financial goals.

  • Work in Illustrator, CAD and with other appropriate tools to develop unique designs to fit unique K2 customer needs.

  • Prioritize, manage and execute all product-related approvals.  This includes managing the product testing.

  • Achieve product deliverables per the timeline.

  • Generate and update the specification sheets defining the construction of the products.

  • Define factory specifications and key measures.  Work with the factories to ensure quality and durability.

  • Submit engineering change notices for construction related changes at the factories.

  • Travel to trade shows, on-snow tests and manufacturing facilities in China.  Travel to Asia is required 3-4 times per year.


  • BS in Engineering or Industrial Design

  • 2-5 years work experience in product development

  • Adept use of CAD and or Adobe programs

  • Self motivated, excellent communication and problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to travel for a minimum of 4 international trips for a duration of 10-14 days.

  • Proficiency with outdoor sports


Snowboard Boots Design Engineer-Boots, Seattle, WA

Position Purpose: Development of Snowboard Boot line. Hit quality needs, delivery goals, cost targets, budget limits, and innovation needs to be competitive in the market.


1. Boot Development

  • Concept development working with teams, sales force, product testers, and other development resources.
  • Development of product and management of development resources (Factories, ID firms, in house resources…)
  • Control the yearly timeline, keeping the model line on target from early design concept through Sales Sample delivery.
  • Meet the needs of the appropriate audience (Team, novice-advanced rider, rental shop…) for fit, comfort, durability, performance, convenience…
  • Manage the balance between design direction and cost needs.
  • Stay clear of existing patents and create new ones for us where possible.
  • Testing designs in fit checks, the lab, and on-hill to insure design efficiency.
  • Coordinate material selection that balances effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage tooling build and buy-off of all parts.
  • Insure that creative department hits timeline goals for color, graphic, logo, and other creative needs.
  • Manage color sampling and color buy-off to meet the goals of the creative department in a manner that keeps the boots within the cost targets.
  • Manage the sampling and buy-off of packaging materials (assist with development as necessary, get film to the factories on time, get samples made and in the hangs of the creative department for buy-off.
  • Achieve on-time full boot buy off to get sample and production boots delivered on time.

2. Quality Assurancy and Warranty

  • Update and guide setting up specifications for quality control.
  • Confirmation that Q/A processes are efficient and effective.

3. Line Management

  • Develop and maintain accurate spec packs and BOM’s.
  • Develop and maintain accurate tool lists and development lists for clear agreement and communication of development projects.

4. Assist with development of promotional material and sales force education as requested or desired.

5. Maintain market awareness through interaction with the team, dealers and sales force, on hill experience, trade show research, shop visits, and other interaction.


  • BS in Engineering, or Industrial Design
  • Four years of experience in footwear development and manufacturing or applicable product development experience.
  • Experience with illustrator, Photoshop, Solid Works or 3d Modeling Program and Microsoft Office software
  • Experience initiating and completing design projects from concept through production.
  • Experience setting-up running, and analyzing experiments.
  • Experience setting-up specifications for quality control and analyzing quality control data.

Skill Ability

  • Knowledge: Well versed in aspects of footwear development and manufacturing.
  • Must have an in depth knowledge of the snowboard market.
  • Mental: Must be willing to travel to trade shows, test sessions, and factories. Must be self motivated and able to manage projects at the factory. Must have attention to detail for design, production confirmation, and quality control.  Must be able to manage a wide range of projects from engineering to aesthetics. Must be patient enough to deal with language barrier at the factory. Must be strong willed to hold our position at the factory.
  • Interpersonal: Must be able to motivate available resources to focus on our projects. Must be able to clearly communicate even while traveling. Must be able to work in a team environment.
