Backcountry Access Production Assistant Production Manager, Boulder, Colorado

This position works for Backcountry Access in Boulder Colorado, a subsidiary of K2 Sports.This position works closely with the Production Manager to meet production goals and as a liaison between production and engineering to ensure clear communication and execution of shared goals.Will provide a general source of knowledge and leadership for production staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Determining priorities based on production goals
  • Assigning staff to address priority tasks
  • Provide training and line support, with focus on assigned product line
  • Sorting and documenting daily fallout units and reporting to Production Manager

K2 Marketing Marketing Manager - K2 Skis & Snowboards, K2 Sports Seattle, Washington

The Marketing Manager strategizes and implements all marketing communication consistent with brand image. Builds creative and promotional programs for K2 to maximize brand exposure and sales in the US market. K2 Marketing Snowshoe Marketing Manager - K2 Outdoor, Seattle Washington

The Snowshoe Marketing Manager implements all marketing, creative and promotional programs from the marketing department for Atlas snowshoes and Tubbs snowshoes to maximize brand exposure and sales globally. The Marketing Manager identifies the key communication vehicles (advertising and promotional) in the market and deploys all marketing collateral, POP, Swag and advertising for the markets, relative to the product, to obtain these objectives. The Marketing Manager is the chief correspondent and spokesperson to all magazine editors, influence leaders, VIP’s, sales reps and retailers regarding brand and product marketing. Additionally, the Marketing Manager is responsible for organizing and implementing all aspects of trade and consumer shows, and works closely with the Sales Director(s) to identify the needs and manage these events. Essential Job Duties

Art Department Graphic Designer, Seattle Washington

The K2 Sports Graphic Designer is a member of a design team responsible for developing graphic artwork for a variety of winter and summer products under K2 Sports.  In addition, team member prepares a variety of graphic design and layout work in preparation of various catalogs, on-line material, posters, pop, advertisements, packaging, collateral, books, newsletters, and flyers.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Creates and designs product graphics for various K2 Sports groups.
  • Creates and designs graphics for layout of marketing collateral, merchandising, and packaging.
  • Operates various graphic design programs.
  • Confers with marketing and sales teams regarding project specifications and creative direction.
  • Writes bid specifications for jobs assigned to outside vendors; coordinates production of material with outside vendors by monitoring jobs in progress, resolving technical problems, proofing materials and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Manages studio and action photography of athletes and product.
  • Creates, designs, and/or manages the production of technical drawings and illustrations.
  • Designs, constructs, and or manages the production of visual displays, POP and exhibits; may determine materials and equipment best suited for the job.
  • Maintains department files of completed assignments; maintains accurate logs of work in progress such as time devoted to projects and materials used.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in graphic design or related field and 2 years experience in graphic design, or
  • four years experience in graphic design, layout and illustration.
  • Must be expert in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.


Supply Chain Product Planner II, Seattle, Washington

The product planner position will ensure accurate and timely delivery of sourced product from supplier (manufacturer) to global distribution centers.

Accountabilities:

  • Acts as main point of contact between vendor and K2.
  • Manages and reviews KPI's for Product Planner direct reports.
  • Responsible for collecting, creating and monitoring PO placement on behalf of the US and K2 subsidiaries.
  • Analyze forecasts to plan capacity based on historical order dates and subsidiary capacity requests.
  • Develop product manufacturing plans for given commodity based on production capability, product development schedule and market needs.
  • Understand and prioritize incoming USA products according to actual customer sales orders.
  • Conducts overseas supplier review trips focusing on constant improvement in lead-time reduction, on time delivery, payment terms, and overall supplier relations.
  • Develops and executes direct ship and special packaging programs for key retailers globally.
  • Create and maintain product financial models as needed.
  • Give direction to vendors on packaging, documentation and shipping to ensure smooth receiving at distribution centers.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of purchasing and or production planning experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, advanced skills in MS systems, ability to work independently, organized.
  • Import customs compliance familiarity and working knowledge of INCO terms.
  • BA/BS degree in business administration, purchasing ore related field is desirable.
  • International business travel experience is desirable.

Product Development Design Engineer - Snowboard Bindings, Seattle, Washington

The K2 Sports Design Engineer's primary responsibility is Management and Engineering Development of the Binding Product Line. Working with the Category Manager, develop a product line that meets the quality needs, delivery goals, value objectives, cost targets, budget limits and innovation needs to be competitive in the market. 

BINDING DEVELOPMENT  (50%)

  • Work with Category Manager to set the goals and objectives of the Binding Product Line.
  • Utilize available development resources (Factories, ID firms, Graphic Design, in-house resources, etc.) to engineer a product line that:
  • Meets the needs of the appropriate riders (Team, novice-advanced rider, rental shop) for fit, durability, performance, convenience, comfort, and any other objectives
  • Meets unit cost targets for each model
  • Doesn’t violate competitor patents. Create new patents for “K2 Sports” where possible.
  • Manage generation, approval, and filing of 3D solid model and 2D drawing files.
  • Develop and Execute product test plan to ensure that designs meet performance and durability targets. Utilize FEA, factory test labs, Vashon Test Lab, Team riders and on-snow test group.
  • Material selection that balances performance, durability and cost.
  • Plan and Manage tooling schedule and build to meet delivery targets and capital budgets.
  • Manage execution of graphic sampling and buy-off to meet the goals of the creative department and also meets unit cost targets.
  • Manage execution of generating, sampling & buy-off of all binding packaging material, including Box, Warranty Card, Instruction Manual, etc.

LINE MANAGEMENT (40%)

  • Participate in Product Planning meetings (GSM/RAB/etc) to set line plans with detailed goals and objectives.
  • Develop, coordinate, maintain, and communicate detailed Project Lists, Development Plans & Schedules to meet program targets & milestones.
  • Generate & maintain accurate Bill of Materials
  • Manage and Maintain up-to-date database of 3D solid model and 2D drawing files.

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND WARRANTY  (5%)

  • Generation and Approval of top-level SOP’s and specifications for quality control of parts and processes.
  • Confirmation that QC processes are efficient and effective.
  • Monitor Warranty Reports and establish plan for addressing suspect or high wear parts.
  • Work with Warranty to prepare and stock appropriate replacement part quantities.

SALES & MARKETING (5%)

  • Assist with development of promotional material and sales force education as required, including technical catalog copy & technical video generation.
  • Maintain market awareness through interaction with the team, test riders, dealers and sales force, on hill experience, trade show research & shop visits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 1-5 years related product design engineering experience.
  • Willing to travel to trade shows, test sessions and factories.
  • Well versed in all aspects of development and manufacturing including prototyping, CAD, FEA, tool making, material selection, component selection, injection molding, metal processing, assembly. 
  • Must be passionate about, and be a proficient snowboarder.

 

 



Ride Marketing Ride Marketing & Team Coordinator, Seattle, Washington

The Team and Marketing Coordinator oversees all RIDE professional and amateur athletes for RIDE Snowboards. This position manages contract negotiations, project marketing, creative project development, appearance execution, PR and social media marketing relative to the athletes and marketing as a whole. In addition the marketing and team coordinator works as a team member within the divisional marketing departments on multiple general marketing projects and collateral materials, including but not limited to advertising, copy, merchandising, catalogs and websites. These marketing functions are in addition to building and managing film archives of athletes for promotional use, allocating, budgeting and tracking NC product offerings and travel expenses for athletes and VIP’s. The primary objective is to Maximize RIDE product and brand presence through athlete exposure via all media outlets globally and manage other marketing within the department.  This position will:

  • Manage all RIDE athletes (international pro teams, Am teams, Women’s development teams).

  • Manage all team trips for testing, promotions, photoshoots and filming.

  • Manage promotional NC account and promotional product needs.

  • Manage certain marketing projects to budget as directed by Global Marketing Manager.

  • Create new marketing promotions utilizing athletes and product placement.

  • Assist marketing department in coordination and management of certain projects during the year as assigned by manager.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with photographers and cinematographers.

  • Identify and fulfill all athlete marketing and promotional requests globally.

  • Work directly with Global Marketing Manager to develop effective brand and product communications message.

  • Coordinate all summer camp athlete, product and promotional needs.

  • Develop all web video content pertinent to athletes working directly with Digital and Social Media Manager.

  • Track and maintain team and certain marketing budgets as assigned from managers.

  • Maximize athlete exposure and promotional value through creative and unique marketing and promotions.

  • Primary communication for all athletes and teams regarding travel, event promotion, and budget

  • Scheduling global team promotions and coordinate onsite marketing needs.

Ride Marketing Digital & Social Media Coordinator - Ride, Line & Full Tilt, Seattle, Washington

The Digital and Social Media Coordinator for the RIDE, LINE/FT oversees the success of the brands digital marketing efforts. This role is actively participating in and managing a wide variety of online activities and digital projects throughout the year. This position is responsible for syndicating branded photo and video assets. This position regularly deploys digital content across multiple platforms, with the intent of tracking and refining for campaign success purposes – including but not limited to our branded website, social platforms, email marketing, website “takeovers” and other marketing outlets.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works closely with Web Services department to ensure creative ideas are technically feasible and leverage the latest technologies and best practices

  • Manage and work with creative teams to create templates for web banners, emails, and social

  • Produce and test email marketing sends, including copy writing and asset creation in collaboration with web services

  • Implement and manage all website content

  • Create, implement, and continually improve upon our digital ad buy programs – Google, AdRoll, affiliates, etc.
