HR Manager

Position Purpose:

The K2 Sports Human Resources Manager provides support and leadership in the following areas:  talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, payroll processing, compensation management, health and welfare benefits, records management, safety and health practices, employee relations, retention and other general office support duties. 



Principal Accountabilities:

  • All aspects of employee onboarding, including posting internally and externally, and completes all pre-employment requirements and prepares offer letters.
  • Handles all aspects of terminations per standard company policies, including separation agreements, preparing responses for all unemployment claims.
  • Conducts new hire orientation, completes “all” data entry and file set up.
  • Maintains that all employees are paid correctly and on time.
  • Maintains organization charts.
  • Maintains Metro Orca Program.
  • Manages annual benefits enrollments, biometric screenings, flu shots.
  • Prepares reports including monthly headcount reports, monthly OSHA reporting, any reporting required by executive staff for compensation purposes or any reason.
  • Responds to all State and Federal government inquiries, including responses required of the Department of Social and Health Services (child support enforcement).
  • Manages all personal and medical leaves of absence per company and State/Federal law requirements.
  • Performance management, to include employee and management counseling and problem resolution or termination. Consults with employment law legal firm for guidance on difficult issues, such as drug and alcohol or mental health issues making sure the company follows all legal policies/requirements (conflict resolution).
  • Conducts company events, including Snow Day, Field Day, Christmas Party, Service and Recognition Awards program, etc.
  • Acts as a company liaison to advise employees and management regarding all company policies and requirements including International subsidiaries.
  • Manages all companywide communications.  Assist with various support projects, errands related to business operations or executive support.
  • Responsible for K2 Sports, Back Country Access and MDV USA employees, ~200 total
  • Ability to travel as needed


Required Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience 
  • Skilled in compensation management, payroll system operation, benefits management, hiring, performance management, and general office duties
  • Significant working knowledge of HR laws, regulations and required compliance.
  • Proven conflict management skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Knowledgeable regarding State and Federal employment laws and requirements
  • Strong cognitive skills including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Must be proficient in MIS Office products, PeopleSoft HRIS preferred
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with the strictest confidence
  • Able to work with constant interruption.
  • Detailed, positive, able to work with all personality types.
